Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) awareness drive on Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY)

Kakinada: ATMA (Agriculture Technology Management Agency), the nodal agency of the Union agriculture ministry, has taken up propagation of PMKSY (Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana) in East Godavari district for better agriculture practices.

As part of this, the ATMA has taken up awareness campaign on accelerated irrigation development programme with irrigation department to increase water resources to suit the needs of cultivation, particularly in upland and agency areas.
Apart from this, the ‘Har Khet Ko Paani’ (irrigation water to every field) is being taken up in active association with minor irrigation department.

The other concept of PMKSY, ‘Per Drop More Crop’ has been taken up in association with micro irrigation department which provides both sprinkler and drip-irrigation equipment.The awareness is being created on development of water sources like water ponds,

mini water tanks, development of check-dams, and digging of soak pits and allied activity in association with DWMA (District Water Management Agency) of East Godavari ATMA project director (PD) P Padmaja said that they had been conducting exposure visits to farmers of different areas on water conservation and better crop yield. From this year onwards, they have even extended the programme to delta areas also, the PD said.
