Warns of strong action against those not following the direction
Vijayawada: Director General of Police (DGP) N Sambasiva Rao said that heads of higher educational institutions must form an Anti Raging Committee (ARC) and Anti Raging Squad (ARS) at college premises to prevent ragging against freshers because they are too sensitive.
He said the Police Department would take serious action against heads of educational institutions based on UGC and Supreme Court guidelines if any student faced ragging at college campus in the State.
Addressing the media persons at his office here on Friday, he said that parents must guide their sons and daughters not to get involved in ragging activities in the college campus because police would register severe cases against those indulging in ragging. He pointed out that in western countries, the seniors there were not indulging in ragging against their juniors.
He mentioned that the State government would transfer IPS officers in the State within two days and will also release police constable recruitment notification for 800 posts.
Crime Investigation Department (CID) Additional Director General of Police Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said that State government would conduct an auction regarding Rs 70 crore worth of AgriGold assets and Rs 10 crore worth of Akshaya Gold properties through e tender process from June 20 to 27.
