Nellore: Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation DV Sadananda Gowda praised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his vision who has been visiting many nations across the country for maintaining bilateral relations and said he would be visiting the US this month for his first meeting with President Donald Trump.

The union minister participated in Modi Fest organized at Venkatagiri Rajah’s College grounds on Friday and said Modi had initiated 146 programmes in the country after assuming power in the centre. He said they had designed the Modi Fest programme to propagate the welfare programmes of the Union Government for last three years to the public.

The minister said the country is having rich natural resources and the role of youngsters is vital in the country’s development who occupied major chunk of country’s population and the union government has been implementing various programmes to look after their welfare.

He also said that the Centre had significantly reduced prices of the heart stents for convenience of the poor patients who face difficulty to get expensive health care. They had also encouraged opening of generic medicine stores in the country at affordable cost as the poor people were facing troubles to buy branded drugs. He said the union government has been extending its support for development of the separated Andhra Pradesh for its fast pace growth, he claimed.

Further, Union Minister visited Yalamavaridinne SC colony in Nellore in the morning and had breakfast there along with villagers. He said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been keen on development of the Dalits in the country. Later, he interacted with the residents of the colony.

‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked me to visit Dalit colonies in Nellore. Narendra Modi also directed me to provide a detailed report on Dalit colonies and the status. We will deliberate on what best needs to be done to develop these areas,’ he said.
