Vijayawada: Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for Traffic Krathi Rana Tata said that city police traced the missing girls Mariyamma and Rohini at Mariyamma uncle’s home at Bandar in Krishna district on Saturday. They left orphanage on June 15 as they are not interested to stay and continue their education in Pavitratma Niketan.

He further stated that police department would hand over them to Juvenile Home and conduct a meeting with children home organisers under the directive of Commissioner of Police D Gautam Sawang for discussing the security of children at various homes in the city to contain their fleeing.

Addressing the media persons here on Sunday, he said that Rohini, a resident of Mogalthur village in West Godavari district and Mariyamma, a resident of Bandar in Krishna district, fled the home as there is a security guard at the orphanage.

DCP for Law and Order-2 G Pala Raju said that nearly 86 missing girls’ cases were registered in the city and police traced majority of them. He said that girls are leaving their homes due to petty reasons like family disputes, financial troubles, love affairs and other silly reasons.
