He said that nearly 630 tmc ft of water should reach these projects to fill their storage capacities and water could then only be released from these projects.Already water has been released to Godavari delta in June first week, he said and hoped that early water release could prevent cyclone threat during the harvesting period of crops in November.
On the other hand, he expressed satisfaction over the progress of Polavaram project works. He said that already 70 per cent of earth work has been finished so far while fabrication work has been completed for 24 gates. The government is very keen to complete the project on time at any cost, he said and added that water would be released from gravity level.
He said that the Krishna water would be diverted to Rayalaseema districts. The government wants to use Godavari water totally for Krishna delta. Nearly 55 tmcft of water could be diverted during the last season for providing irrigation facility to 13 lakh acres in Krishna delta, he pointed out.
Stating that Pattiseema Project which was completed in a record time has been quite beneficial to the State, he flayed the Opposition for trying to stop the Project.
