Nellore: District Collector R Mutyala Raju advised entrepreneurs to set up industrial units in barren lands rather than fertile lush-green fields. He addressed entrepreneurs at Kasturba Kalakshetram here on Thursday, in connection with seminar on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The Collector said that the state government has been encouraging the entrepreneurs by providing various sops to them and suggested to embark on starting the proposed units at viable places for utilising the local resources. He stated they had provided detailed report on the availability of lands in the district to the recently visited central team.

He assured them that he would sort our problems in setting up MSMEs in the district during monthly meets organised by the Industries department. Single-window system has been introduced for convenience of the entrepreneurs for issuing various clearances in a hassle-free manner, he added.

Joint Collector A Md Imtiaz said they would review ‘Stand-Up India’ scheme and each bank in the district has to provide two loans under the scheme. He advised the officials of the Industries department to create awareness among bankers for sanctioning the loans according to guidelines. NABARD AGM K Ramesh, FSME national president APK Reddy, APIIC zonal manager K Venkateswara Rao, Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry member D Ratnam and others were present.
