Amaravati: HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that teachers’ transfers would be conducted through direct counselling system. He also said the process of transfers will be completed by July 31.

Few weeks ago, the minister told reporters that they invited teachers’ unions to discussions to dispel their misunderstandings on process of transfers. However, the teachers unions differed with the statement of the Minister on implementation of web counselling system for transfers and met him at Secretariat to express their anguish.

After discussions with the unions, Ganta announced that the government agreed to direct counselling system. He said that performance related points were reduced from 50 to 30. “A GO on transfers of teachers will be released shortly” he said.
He also said that 1,836 schools would be closed under rationalisation system and some schools would be continued, if there is in increase in number of students.
