Tirupati: The Tirumala police heaved a sigh of relief with the surrender of kidnappers of 9-month-old Chennakesava along with the boy at the Belukuruchi police station of Namakkal district in Tamil Nadu on Friday.

According to TN police sources, the accused surrendered to the police at 12.15pm along the boy.

Both the accused persons are hailing from Singalanthapuram village of Belukuruchi. The TN police immediately alerted the Tirupati police, who in turn are bringing the boy back from Tamil Nadu to hand over the child to his parents Venkatesha and Nagaratnamma at in Anantapur district on Saturday.

It may be noted here that the boy was abducted at 5.30 am on June 14 by Ashok (24) and Tangayee (24), wife of one Periyasamy residing near Srivari Temple on the hill shrine.

The Tirumala police have registered a case and announced Rs 1 lakh reward for giving information on the kidnappers. Speaking to the media, Anantapur DIG J PrabakarRao and SP Ch Vijaya Rao said they had used advanced technology to trace the kidnappers in the case.

For the last 15 days an ASP, 3 DSPs, 5 Cis and 10 SIs have been on the job to nab the kidnappers of Chennakesava in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, besides AP.

It may be noted here that the parents of the child stay put in Tirumala more than 12 days asking the police to trace their child. Only recently, they went to their native place Uravakonda.
