Visakhapatnam: The district president of YSRCP Gudivada Amarnath has alleged that the Andhra University management having autonomous powers is showing partiality while giving permissions to use their premises and acting on the orders of the HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.

Addressing a press conference at the party office here on Friday, he said AU had given its premises for liquor auctions and also for TDP’s plenary sessions Mahanadu. But the management denied permission for the YSRCP when the party had applied for permission to conduct its district plenary in convocation hall.

Amarnath accused that the registrar of Andhra University Prof V Umamaheswawra Rao who told them that he would take a decision only after consulting the minister was acting like a loyal TDP leader.

After AU management refused permission, the party has decided to organise its district plenary at Port Kalavani Stadium in which party Rajya Sabha member V. Vijaya Sai Reddy and other leaders Kolusu Partha Sarathi, Durga Prasad would attend.
He also alleged that people have lost the confidence on the Special Investigation Team (SIT) following the team’s statement that it would only enquire into the tampering of government land records and not grabbing of private lands.

He alleged that the Ganta Srinivasa Rao’s friend K. Narsinga Rao of Gajuwaka had had illegally got 60 acres of land at Tata Cancer Hospital at Lankelapalem which was shown as a government land by the district administration.TDP leaders are continuing to grab the government lands, the YSRCP leader alleged.
