On the orders of the state government, three IPS officers were retransferred within five days in the home district of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Transfers have been taken place reportedly with the pressure from political leaders of the ruling party and it led to political debate across the district.

Ch Vijaya Rao was posted as Tirupati Urban SP in the place of R Jayalakshmi. He took charge four days ago. However, the state government issued fresh orders on Thursday night posting Vijaya Rao as Guntur Urban SP. In his place, Abhishek Mohanty was posted as Tirupati Urban SP from Guntur Urban.
Vijaya Rao was posted as Guntur Urban SP reportedly based on the intelligence alert that he is a converted Christian and may face difficulty to perform duties at Hindu shrine Tirumala. Similarly, Anantapur SP S V Rajasekhar Babu was posted as Chittoor SP two days ago and he was also given an additional charge as Chief Vigilance and Security Officer (CVSO) of the TTD.
Kurnool SP Ake Ravi Krishna was posted as TTD CVSO by the government in its fresh orders. Rajasekhar Babu took charge as CVSO three days back. CPM State committee member Kandarapu Murali flayed the government for making frequent transfers of IPS officers.
He condemned transferring Ch Vijaya Rao from Urban SP post within short period. He alleged that the Chief Minister and his son and Minister Nara Lokesh are behind these hasty transfers. Asked about frequent IPS transfers, Anantapur Range DIG J Prabhakar Rao refused to comment. But, he said that transfers are common for government officials.
