Visakhapatnam: After the state government constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into alleged scam of government and private lands in Visakhapatanam district, members of CPM submitted a memorandum to SIT at the Collectorate on Saturday seeking the panel to conduct a holistic inquiry into frauds.

The CPM alleged that some of the culprits had encroached thousands of acres with the support of a few politicians. It was noted that in 3,022 villages, out of 2,29, 521 FMB survey numbers nearly 16,375 have been missing which accounts for 1,06,239 acres.

The party has identified some encroached lands that came to their notice and made a list for submitting to the SIT.
According to memorandum, most of the land that was involved in scams has been located on the outskirts of the city such as Bheemili, Anandapuram, Pendurthi, Gajuwaka, Peda Gantayada, Sabbavaram, Paravaada and Anakapalli.

The identified encroached lands include 14.64 acres of survey number 36/2 in Kommadi, 120 acres of TD number 1,180 in Adavivarma village near Simhachalam, 24 acres near Visakha Valley School and 14 acres near Rushikonda.
