Tirumala security is my top priority: Urban SP
Abhishek Mohanty took charge as new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Tirupati Urban at District Police Office (DPO) here on Monday. Earlier, he worked as Guntur Urban SP for a short period of five days. Later, he has transferred as SP of Tirupati Urban. Prior to working as Guntur Urban SP, Mohanty worked as Chittoor Additional SP.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, the SP gave a call to people to avail services of police personnel round-the-clock. “I have already instructed my subordinate officers to perform duties sincerely as per law,” he added. He informed media that that Tirumala security is his top priority. The SP stated that more manpower is needed for Tirupati Urban district.
He mentioned that Tirupati is a growing city and will emerge as a cosmopolitan city in future. “We will make use of technology for strengthening policing,” he stated. Mohanty took charge as SP at 11.30 am without any protocol
formalities.
Later, all the ASPs, DSPs and CIs have greeted the SP personally. District Police Association honorary president Shekar, T Gopal and other members have welcomed the new SP. Later, the SP instructed all the DPO staff to work sincerely.
Review meet held Urban SP Abhishek Mohanty conducted a review meeting with officers of all cadres in the Police departmentafter taking charge here.
In the meeting held at Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) senate hall, the SP directed the police officials to accomplish tasks within the legal framework. Abhishek Mohanty made it clear that performing duties with discipline is his priority. He asked police officials not to indulge in the station settlements.
