Addressing a mammoth public meeting at Muktapuram village in Kanaganapalle mandal in Raptadu Assembly constituency represented by Paritala Sunitha here on Wednesday, the chief minister said that despite rains eluding Krishna delta, water was released to Krishna delta by the end of June.

He promised to extend all help to Rayalaseema, if monsoons fail the state.The chief minister said that he kept his word relating to Hundri Neeva project and released water to Adavipalle, Cherlapalle and Gollapalle reservoirs and filling tanks like Kolletipalle and Nagasamudram, first time after 20 years.

He said that Bukkapatnam tank also was filled and 10,000 bores within the vicinity of the tanks were recharged thus facilitating irrigation to lands depending on the bore wells.Naidu maintained that he was widely criticised by the opposition for taking up Pattiseema project but today he could bring 30 tmc ft of water from Krishna because of the project.

He expressed indignation at people, who were enjoying the benefits given by his government like pension and farm debt waiver and criticising him. His government, he claimed has prevented the district from turning into a desert as signs of desertification were being witnessed in Rayadurgam area.

The chief minister reiterated that Polavaram project would be completed by 2018 and water would be supplied through gravity. “About 32 lakh acres were brought under drip irrigation in Anantapur district alone and every drop of water considered as gold in the district and will be preserved under the ‘Neeru-Pragathi’ programme through digging farm ponds under ‘Panta Sanjeevani’ project,” he said.

Naidu said that the soil contained 46 per cent deficit in micro-nutrients and as a result production came down by 36 per cent and to address the issue Rs.120 crore worth micro-nutrients have been supplied to the district.Naidu also sanctioned several internal road projects as requested by local people's representatives of Dharmavaram and other constituencies.

Earlier the chief minister inaugurated a pylon at the NTR Model Housing Colony in Muktapuram village. As many as 134 model houses were sanctioned and 32 houses that were completed, were inaugurated.

He also promised to ensure completion of Kia Motors project by 2018 and provide employment to locals. Taking a dig at the Congress, he said that during their rule even ghosts of dead people grabbed pensions and he claimed after TDP came to power the ghosts were banished. He claimed that his government is taking care of the welfare of the poor people from womb to tomb.

Earlier, minister for woman welfare Paritala Sunitha described chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu as ‘God of the Masses’. She listed out several bonanzas given by the chief minister to the people of the district and heaped praises on the later.
A host of TDP leaders, MLAs, MLCs and other district officials were present.
