Rajamahendravaram: Amalapuram former MP GV Harsha Kumar alleged that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was trying to supress the opposition parties’ leaders using police force, who are questioning the lapses of the ruling government.

Amalapuram former MP says the CM is harassing the Opposition leaders with frequent and unnecessary arrests

In the wake of his house arrest here on Thursday, speaking to reporters at his house, he said that Chief Minister was violating the constitution by not adhering to fundamental rights such as freedom of speech.

House arrests of leaders of various other parties became order of the day for even the small issues which are condemned by all. Though the proposed programme to Garagaparru village in West Godavari district was postponed, the urban police issued a warrant for house arrest, he said.

The government diluted the Garagaparru social boycott issue to protect some leaders of upper caste as well as West Godavari collector, he alleged.“Congress Party during its 10 years tenure never posed any problems to opposition parties in any manner, not even to the padayatra of Nara Chandrababu Naidu. People are observing the functioning of the government and are ready to teach a lesson to Nara Chandrababu Naidu in the forthcoming assembly elections,” he said.

Moreover, he said that Chief Minister was showing step-motherly attitude towards Dalits after coming to power in the state. It is not good on the part of Nara Chandrababu Naidu to play cheap political gimmicks and to harass the leaders of other parties, he said.

“I am ready to approach court against the government for its unnecessary and frequent house arrests and for encroaching fundamental rights,” he told. His son Sri Raj said that a massive Dalit Garjana programme under the aegis of his father would be held in the state.
