Visakhapatnam: The new digital classrooms help adopting modern teaching practices to give best education for the students, said Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu.

The MP inaugurated smart class rooms and roof top solar systems On Thursday which were set up at KDPM and MVD schools at a cost of Rs 65 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, he said in the first phase, classrooms of six schools were digitized at a cost of Rs 1.09 crore, adding that steps were being taken to refurbish another 25 high schools as digital classrooms with Rs 5.9 crore in second phase.

GVMC Commissioner M Harinarayanan said roof top solar systems would be set up in 124 schools for which Rs 3 crore has been allotted. Apart from rendering quality education, he said smart classrooms help teachers improving creativity and memory power in young students.

The government and municipal schools should give best education and produce good results on par with corporate education institutions, he emphasised.

East MlA Velagapudi Ramakrishnababu praised the Commissioner for taking steps to give fresh coat of paint to all GVMC schools.

South MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar asked the head masters to talk with students’ parents about new amenities provided in the schools and to instil confidence in them.
