The Hospital Development Committee under the chairmanship of the Collector and reviewed the decisions taken at the last meeting at the GGH conference hall here on Thursday.

Vijayawada: Krishna District Collector B Lakshmi Kantam directed the officials of Government General Hospital (GGH) to implement the recommendations of the Hospital Development Committee and attend with progress report for next meeting.
The Hospital Development Committee under the chairmanship of the Collector and reviewed the decisions taken at the last meeting at the GGH conference hall here on Thursday.

The panel has decided to evolve an action plan to implement the recommendations. On the media reports criticising the hospital, it has been decided to form a committee with the Collector as Chairman and Municipal Commissioner and senior officials as members.

The Collector directed the hospital officials to provide best medical services to the poor and deserved as the government had been spending crores of rupees for health sector.

The services should match with those of corporate hospitals, he insisted.Lakshmi Kantam instructed the officials to make best use of the equipment supplied to all the departments of the hospital for the better treatment of the patients. He announced that the committee had suggested Director of Medical Education to purchase four ventilators for paediatric ward.

The meeting also decided to shift back to old hospital the three departments of ENT, ophthalmology and chest.Among other decisions taken at the meeting include establishing 11 KV sub-stations at new and old hospitals, setting up of four ventilators at pediatric ward, provision of ECT machines with EEG and ECG facilities, purchase of aprons used at the time of thyroid test with radiation, surgical block at new hospital, appeal for fire department for permission to set up fire equipment in gynaecology and paediatrics ward.

The meeting also rushed an appeal to Commissioner of Police for setting up of police out-post at old hospital.The committee approved appointment of two drivers on outsourcing method, two air conditioner technicians, two lab technicians and data entry operators. The committee also decided to call tenders for installing CCTV cameras, 10 computers in old and new hospitals.
