Rapists posed as police personnel; four held
The four accused, who gang raped the Sikkim house wife, posed themselves as police personnel before committing the crime. All the four, including a juvenile, were taken into custody.

The police said the accused gained entry into the house of woman claiming themselves as local police, who had come for a raid on suspicion over alleged prostitution racket.
A day after the complaint was lodged, the police formed a team and arrested all of them on Thursday. They were identified as Ch Purushottam (22), a resident of Drivers Colony and a private employee, V Venkata Kumar (22), a resident of Gajuwaka, and a student of third year degree, Harsha Raj alias Harsha (19), a resident of Gangavaram and native of Narsipatnam.
Gajuwaka police said on June 3 evening, the four gained entry into the house posing themselves as special police team. They entered the house stating that they had come for inspecting a few houses in the locality, after receiving information over alleged prostitution racket in the area. Police said that the four then checked the entire house and took away Rs 650 from her.
Later, they demanded more money as bribe. The police said two of the accused, including the minor, took away her three children into a room, while other two took the woman into kitchen and raped one after another.
They also threatened the woman not to reveal the incident. She informed her husband about the incident. Police said that even her husband feared to approach police assuming that the accused were real police. However, next day the four-member gang called the victim over phone and demanded Rs 5,000. Vexed up with the torture, the couple lodged a complaint with the police.
