Donate Rupees 10L to Dalit families in Garagaparru demands P Madhu
CPM Andhra Pradesh Unit Secretary P Madhu demanded the government take necessary steps to provide work for the Dalits who were socially boycotted in Garagaparru village for the last two months.
Eluru: CPM Andhra Pradesh Unit Secretary P Madhu demanded the government take necessary steps to provide work for the Dalits who were socially boycotted in Garagaparru village for the last two months.
He demanded the government sanction land under Land Purchase Scheme to all the Dalit families in the village according to the SC, ST Atrocities Act.
The CPM Secretary along with party leaders visited Garagaparru on Friday and met the Dalits in Christianpet area. He enquired them about the incident and also asked whether they have been sanctioned essential commodities and other facilities as per the SC, ST Atrocities Act.
He toured all the streets in the Christian pet and found no road or drainage schemes in the colony. Later he interacted with the Dalits in the colony.
He said that the government should sanction two acres of land to each family or Rs.10 lakh as compensation to each family. He said that if the government fails to meet the demand of the Dalits by July 12, the CPM will take up “Chalo Bhimavaram” on July 12 with the Dalits in the district.
The CPM leader announced Rs. one lakh as assistance to the Dalits and also 10 quintals of rice. ‘The party will donate Rs. one lakh to the victims in the Colony. We will also distribute 10 quintals of rice ‘he stated.
