The corporation personnel cleared all the encroachments on the railway station road where they removed the occupation on pavements and road margins. The shopkeepers and vendors not only occupied the pavements and road margins but also extended beyond till the road point making public movement particularly the pilgrims on the crowded Railway station road very difficult.

Despite, the civic authorities and police repeated warnings, the shopkeepers not relented leading to the corporation authorities forcibly removed the encroachments on Saturday, much to the relief of the pilgrims arriving daily in thousands.

Every day morning, thousands of pilgrims from various places in the country and large number of people including students and others from nearby towns and villages also arrive by train and they have to virtually wade through the crowd to reach RTC bus parking area due to the encroachments all along the road.

The corporation personnel also removed encroachments in another crowded Indira Priyadarsini main market area where they cleared the footpath from the vendors and shopkeepers. Here also the local women arriving to the main market for purchase of vegetable facing difficulty with the encroachment hindering their movement.

The corporation officials also removed banners, flexis and boards in RTC bus stand area, Annamayya Circle, Balaji Colony, NTR Circle, Nimmakayala street, TK street and KT road as they were found affecting the visibility on the roads causing difficulty to vehicles.

MCT Commissioner C Hari Kiran declared that the drive against encroachments of footpaths, drain roads in the city would continue. He said that corporation also taken up demolition of unauthorised constructions in the city and said that notices will be issued to those violated the approved building plan.
