Pampanur (Anantapur): Funds crunch and the government's failure in releasing funds for the Integrated Eco Park has stalled works apart from inconveniencing the contractors who are yet to be paid bills for the Rs. two crore ambitious project by the forest department at Pampanur village.

Temporarily works remained stalled in the mid-way of the project for which the local people are awaiting to enjoy the scenic beauty of the park and to take a break from the mundane. The tourism project which was supposed to be completed by the end of March 2017 did not materialise due to non-release of the budget by the state government.

A first of its kind on the Kalyandurgam road at Pampanur 18 km from Anantapur, it is an integrated project with a deer park, mountain trekking, Amphi-theatre, Yoga centre, Volley ball and shuttle court and a 7- km Nature camp tour within the park vicinity with transport facility to go around the virgin forest to view its pristine beauty.

It is an eco-tourism journey within the designated reserve forest area. DFO A.Chandrasekhar speaking to 'The Hans India' at the project site said the backward district will hereafter be a tourist paradise. He said that he is awaiting release of funds from the government to complete the project.
