Halaharvi (Kurnool): An elderly woman was hacked to death by her husband at Gulyam village under Halaharvi police station limits on Sunday afternoon. The deceased was identified as K Malamma (65). As per the details provided by the Halaharvi police station Sub Inspector, K Krishna Murthy, the deceased K Malamma and the accused Sanna Gadeppa are staying with their youngest son Amresh at Gulyam village.

The deceased was said to be ignoring her husband despite repeated requests to pay attention to him. Gadeppa who developed suspicion on her ignoring him was said to be having frequent quarrels, stated the police. The police also said that the accused was also suspecting her fidelity due to which she was ignoring him.

Unable to digest her behaviour, Gadeppa came to house in an inebriated condition and picked up a quarrel. In a fit of rage, Gadeppa attacked Malamma with the axe that is used for cutting wood and killed her while no one was present in the house. Just after the attack, he fled the spot, revealed the police.

The youngest son Amresh who came to house from outside found his mother in a pool of blood. He along with the help of his neighbours rushed her to Alur hospital for treatment but she was declared to be brought dead. The body has been handed over after completion of postmortem.
