Tirupati: Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao on Sunday criticised the Opposition Leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy for misusing his official position and violating the established ethics and principles of democracy.

Speaking to media here on Sunday, the minister took serious note on the remarks made in the YSRC’s plenary against the government and said that in the next elections his party will not get even the Opposition status.

Referring to the political strategist Prashanth Kishore, whom the YSRCP hired to draft strategies for the next elections, he said not even 100 Prashanth Kishore’s cannot bring his party into power.

The minister questioned the motive behind organising the plenary at Amaravati. Is it for criticising the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his family members, he asked.

No one spoke about the people or their problems. They did not even mention about the Polavaram project. He said the plenary was held with crores of rupees, which Jagan had looted during the former chief minister YSR’s tenure.

Criticising Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani for his personal remarks on the CM, Devineni said without restraining his party MLA from talking like that, Jagan felt happy which shows his cruelty. YSR cursed TDP many times when he was CM. “But we never violated our democratic principles and fought with him by following all ethics,” he said.

Leaving all democratic principles to the air, they made all the media to sit in a room at the plenary and asked them to cover the programme by seeing it in a TV. Only his own media could move at the plenary area. What message they want to send to people by giving such a treatment to media? They wanted to say that they are above the democracy, asked Devineni.

Jagan was talking about the corruption in TDP government by making the Dharmana Prasada Rao, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Parthasarathy and Botcha Satyanarayana to sit on either side of him.

The corruption was rampant when they were ministers in YSR Cabinet and the TDP has brought a book also titled ‘Raja of Corruption’. “So, do you think that even others also corrupt like you,” he said. Devineni said that Jagan could not see the welfare schemes of the state. His only mission was to throw the mud on TDP and the CM.

The government has given 10 TMC water from Godavari to Krishna delta through Pattiseema project. But Jaganmohan Reddy did not utter a single word on that, the Minister pointed out.
