Visakhapatnam: Thousands of aspirants for the Kalasi post in the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant were left high and dry after the management announced the postponement of the written examination which was supposed to be held on Sunday.

The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the flagship company of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, issued the notification for recruitment of various posts like management trainees, junior trainees and kalasi recently.

According to sources, the management engaged some private agencies to conduct the examination. However, as some questions carrying 30 marks were repeated in the management trainee examination, hence, the management cancelled the examination recently.

Meanwhile, over 1.10 lakh candidates who applied for the posts of Kalasi, and junior trainees having qualifications of diploma and Class X rushed to the examination centres on Sunday morning. However, due to technical reasons, the RINL Management cancelled the kalasi post examination at the last minute.

Meanwhile, several allegations were posted in the social media against the management which went viral. News spread that the question papers were leaked before the commencement of examination. According to the reports, the examination paper was leaked in the early hours of Sunday.

The officials of RINL said that there was a delay in getting the papers from Bhubaneswar as the flight failed to take off on time, the examination for the post of Kalasi was postponed. The officials also said that there was no change in the junior trainee examination which was conducted peacefully.

Responding on the development, Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) criticised the RINL management for its failure to conduct the examinations.
