Vijayawada: Traffic problems being faced by commuters passing via NTR Circle Junction at Patamata for a long time will be solved soon as the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation has begun efforts to widen the junction in order to provide free left to the vehicles moving towards Patamata and Auto Nagar.

NTR circle is one of the most congested junctions in the city as several thousand vehicles pass towards Kankipadu, Vuyyur, Machilipatnam and other eastern parts of the district from the city. A large number of vehicles are being stranded at NTR Junction due to bottleneck at Nirmala Convent Junction.

NTR Junction connects five roads and it’s a hub of many educational institutions. To ease the traffic problem to some extent, the VMC had demolished some structures in the corner of Panta Kaaluva Road at NTR Circle Junction paving the way for the free movement of vehicles.

The corporation has been asking the property owners to cooperate for the widening of the road. After many years of consultations and discussions, the VMC convinced the owners and finally demolished the structures. Now, there is a possibility for widening the junction to ease the traffic problem.

Mayor Koneru Sreedhar insisted on widening the road and easing the traffic problem. Efforts taken by the corporation are paying dividends. The corporation has taken the important decision in view of the increasing traffic problem at Benz Circle as well as NTR Circle Junction since the start of the Benz Circle flyover construction works two months ago.
