Awareness programme on micro irrigation held
District Collector B Lakshmikantham on Monday flagged off the Horticulture department mobile van to create awareness on micro irrigation in Krishna district.
Vijayawada: District Collector B Lakshmikantham on Monday flagged off the Horticulture department mobile van to create awareness on micro irrigation in Krishna district.
The mobile van will tour 22 areas in the district in seven days to create awareness about the micro irrigation system and tools used for the cultivation of crops. Andhra Pradesh horticulture department is conducting the campaign in the district.
The collector, speaking on the occasion, said the district administration set the target of 8000 hectares for cultivation of horticulture crops in the district in 2017-18. He said demonstration will be made to explain the farmers about the usage of tools and proper utilisation of water. Micro irrigation project State Co-ordinator S Rajiv, Zonal Manager Vijay Bhushan and other officials of the horticulture department participated in the event
