Chittoor: The students of Tellagundlapalli village, Thavanampalle mandal in the district on Monday made a representation to District Collector PS Pradyumna to ensure transport facility to reach their schools from their destination. During Prajavani programme held at the Collectorate, the students said they used to travel in a private bus to attend ZP High School in Kanipakam from their village.

Due to the instructions from the Transport department, the management of a private bus, plying from Chittoor to Kanipakam via Tellagundlapalli village, has stopped its service four months ago.

Though the villagers have made several appeals to APSRTC to operate trips to Kanipakam via Tellagundlapalli to facilitate their children to go to school at Kanipakam, which is around 10 km distance from Tellagundlapalli village, they did not receive any positive response.

Responding to the appeal of children, the Collector assured that he would instruct the RTC officials to take immediate action for plying buses from Chittoor to Kanipakam via Tellagundlapalli. He also asked the children over the functioning of their school.

They said all the teachers in the school were attending the classes punctually but expressed concern over supplying inferior quality food in the school under midday meal scheme. Pradyumna said that he would make a surprise visit to the school to rectify the lapses.
