Specialist doctors to be appointed in Agency
Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas said that the government is committed to providing all amenities in hospitals in Agency areas to protect the health of people.
Parvathipuram (Vizianagaram): Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas said that the government is committed to providing all amenities in hospitals in Agency areas to protect the health of people.
On Wednesday he toured Parvathipuram Agency area, visited hospitals and interacted with locals. He said the objective of the government is to ensure round-the-clock services in government hospitals. Vacancies to different posts will be filled in the hospitals.
He pointed out that though good salaries and perks are being offered, the specialist doctors were showing no interest to move to Agency areas. He said the government is considering adoption of rotation method for posting of specialist doctors in Agency areas.
The Health Minister visited Bhadragiri community health centre and Jiyammavalasa PHC. He inspected Nidagallu Guda anganwadi centre and interacted with children and parents there.
Expressing concern over the rise in malaria cases, the Minister said, “We came to know that Vizianagaram Agency had registered more number of malaria cases than Srikakulam Agency.
We will conduct a meeting in Vizag with the medical officers, project officers of ITDA and discuss the conditions in Agency areas and will receive suggestions from the public and officers to solve the problems,” he said.
