Commissioner Nivas inspects works at Ayodhyanagar

Vijayawada: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) Commissioner J Nivas inspected the works of semi-underground dumper bins and dumping yard at Budameru Katta near Ayodhyanagar in Vijayawada on Thursday.

The corporation is implementing the eco-friendly dumper bin system for shifting the daily garbage from various places in the city on an experimental basis. But the system will be launched officially from Friday in the city.

In this connection, the Commissioner inspected the system and interacted with the officers. Speaking on the occasion, Nivas said that the pilot project was introduced at Andhra Loyola College road and trail run was conducted successfully.

Garbage-filled dumper bin would be shifted to dumping yard with sensor alert system, he said. The 10 feet length and six feet width bins with Poly Propilin Durable bags are fixed in the land with a capacity of 1.5 tonnes garbage, he said.

He further stated that these bags would be shifted to dumping yard by specially arranged vehicles and after completion of garbage dumping the bags would reset at the same place.

He said that this new system would be introduced in all areas in the city and appealed to the people to cooperate with the corporation officers and staff. Deputy executive engineer Karimulla and other officers accompanied the Commissioner.
