In order to give a push for socially disadvantaged sections, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is giving fee exemption to transgenders for admission in all academic programmes. The candidates concerned need to apply, along with the certificate, issued by the Central/State government/medical officer/any competent authority/Aadhaar card while seeking the admissions.

Visakhapatnam: In order to give a push for socially disadvantaged sections, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is giving fee exemption to transgenders for admission in all academic programmes. The candidates concerned need to apply, along with the certificate, issued by the Central/State government/medical officer/any competent authority/Aadhaar card while seeking the admissions.

The IGNOU is inviting applications for July 2017 session for Masters, Degree, PG Diploma, Diploma programmes and Certificate programmes. The last date for admissions is July 31 without any late fee and for Certificate and BPP programmes is July 15, according to a press release.

As a part of going digital, the admissions are open on online mode for majority of the academic programmes except nine programmes which are admitted through merit based or entrance test, according to Dr S Raja Rao, IGNOU Regional Director.
For online admissions, candidates can log on to the following portal and complete the rocess:https://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in/admission/.
