Visakhapatnam: The city police claimed that there was no merit in the complaint against Anakapalle MLA P Govind Satyanarayana given by one Sheikh Adambi, a resident of Pendurthi area in Vizag city.

She lodged a complaint with city police chief T Yoganand against the MLA alleging that he and his supporters threatened to kill her and her daughter Sheikh Afraz and used abusive language. The police said that they have rejected the complaint as the allegation against the MLA was baseless and unfound.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone) T Ravi Kumar Murthy said that Sheikh Adambi approached the city police with a representation that the MLA had threatened her at the behest of a private financer with the intention of grabbing her house at Rathicheruvu area near Pendurthi in the city.

In the complaint, Adambi stated that private financier Ramana from whom she had taken a loan of about Rs 2 lakh at a high interest has been harassing her for repayment despite paying Rs 6 lakh with interest. She also alleged that the financier had made her sign on blank stamp papers in a bid to grab her house.

The DCP said inquiry revealed that the woman had entered into a sale agreement with Ramana for sale of her house for Rs 45 lakh and Ramana had given Rs 20 lakh to her in three instalments about one year ago and promised to pay the balance at the time of registration.

Despite the sale agreement, Adambi approached Union Bank and pledged the documents for a loan and subsequently the loan amount of Rs 25 lakh was transferred to Andhra Bank. Adambi again entered into an agreement with one Jagganadham for the sale of her house for Rs 75 lakh and Jagganadham paid Rs 46.5 lak through Tata Financial Services as advance.

Ramana, who came to know the fraud by Adambi, filed a protest petition at the registrar office and that was when Jagganadham had come to know about the shady deals. When Jagganadham urged Adambi to settle the issue with Ramana first before going for registration.

Ramana approached the MLA who had sent P Satyanarayana to bring Adambi to his house for settlement. The CCTV footage at the MLA’s house has given a clear picture as there was no indication of the MLA threatening the woman as alleged by her. However, Adambi had claimed that the MLA was trying to hush up the case.
