She was angry with the officials neglecting at the work on giving facelift to temples in Kurnool district. Since 1958, the Kolanu Bharati temple faced neglect. She wondered that the officials could spend only Rs 23 lakh out of the allocated Rs 1 crore a year ago. She gave a dressing down to the contractor, Satish.

The district officials apparently misled the commissioner on the temple development works. The officials were asked to miniature temple (Balalayam) and complete the Kolanu Bharati temple renovation works in three months. She cancelled the darshan tickets and allowed free darshan of devotees.

She was astonished to know that the temple executive officer visits the temple once in a week. The official displeasure at the style of working of engineers, the omissions and commissions of the contractor, performance of the priests.

At Sangameshwar temple, temple main priest Telakapalli Raghurama Sarma welcomed the commissioner with full temple honours. She performed puja at the temple. Sangameshwar is a holy place and a lot of future for its development. The temple renovation works should be taken up at a cost of Rs 90.50 lakh.

Superintending engineer Subba Rao, executive engineer Pullaiah, assistant commissioner Venkateswarlu, Deputy executive engineer Prasad and others accompanied the commissioner.
