Google maps solution for pilgrims’ morning urgencies
You are a new to temple city - Tirupati and you have no idea where to go to relieve yourself, trust in your smart phone and Google for solution. Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) authorities are uploading location details of public toilets in Google maps. This will guide pilgrims where to find urinals.

Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) authorities are uploading location details of public toilets in Google maps. This will guide pilgrims where to find urinals.

MCT has roped in the services of New Delhi – basedQuality Control of India (QCI) organisation to complete the task. A three-member team met MCT commissioner C Hari Kiran few days ago, where they discussed modalities of the project, as information regarding toilets would be useful for pilgrims.
QCI programming officers Angela and Priyanka with the support of municipal engineering staff has taken up the task of uploading of public and community toilets. More than 70 public toilets details have linked with Google maps.
Speaking about the initiative MCT commissioner C Hari Kiran told The Hans India that their innovative idea has showed solution for problem being faced by the pilgrims in Temple city.
“We hope that uploading the information of toilets locations in Google maps, is going to very useful for pilgrims. Any one can search public toilets details easily in their smart phones. It is one of the motivations to prevent the open defecation,” he added.
