Visakhapatnam: Refuting allegations of land grabbing, Anakapalle MLA Peela Govind Satyanarayana said the land in question belonged to his ancestors and he never grabbed any land.

The Special Investigation Team, which was appointed by the state government to conduct an inquiry into tampering of land records in the district, received a complaint from V Rajagoala Chandra against the MLA citing that he and his family members encroached 47 acres of his land also 48.5 acres of government land at Ramavaram area under Anandapuram mandal on the outskirts of the city.

Though the land dispute between Rajagoala Chandra of Zamindar family and Peela Govind is in the court, the RDO has issued an order a few days ago stating that 48.5 acres of land at Ramavaram belonged to the government. Peela with the support of Botcha Satyanarayana got pattadar passbooks for the grabbed private and government lands by tampering with the land records.

Talking to the reporters here on Saturday Peela Govind Satyanarayana claimed that his father had purchased over 70 acres of land at Ramavaram in 1980s at low prices and they have pattadar passbooks also.“We are the legitimate owners of the land and ready to face any inquiry in this regard,’’ the MLA told reporters.
