Guntur: Rain has not diluted the spirit of athletes who are taking part in the 57th Inter-State National Senior Athletics Championship being held at the Acharya Nagarjuna University in the district on Monday. The organisers have conducted events like 400 meters men and women race, Javelin Throw, High Jump and Pole Vault on third day of four-day Senior National Athletics Championship.

Braving the rain, national and international athletes participated in games as participation in the meet is compulsory for the selection for Athletics World Championship which will be held in London in August first week. Who were not qualified for World Championship contingent are waiting for their selection in the championship and they were necessary to participate in this tournament.

However, athletes were facing some problems due to heavy rain. The organisers were provided umbrellas which were sponsored by private organisations. Some athletes were failed to complete their achievement and disappointed with the rain.
Rain disrupted events like discuss throw, Hammer Throw fields some parts of athletics track were also filled with water.

Master of Physical Education (MPED) and Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) students of ANU tried to remove the water and help organisers to continue the competitions.
