Atmakur (Kurnool): The officials were astonished to find how a suspended headmaster made good with the office records and his successor how she became highly irregular to duties. Janardhan, headmaster of Government Upper Primary school at Sripatiraopeta, was placed under suspension for making good with office records and files.

Taking a serious view of it, higher officials suspended the headmaster, who put the upper primary school under the lock and key. As his successor, Shahataj Begum became highly irregular to the school as she commuted from Kurnool, which is 80 km away.

Parents of students complained against her with Nodal Officer Satya Raju and Mandal Revenue Officer Rajasekhara Babu. The student to teacher ratio of the school is 46:8. Several have complained against the Janardhan that he had wasted time by indulging in caste groups and NGOs’ activities

Similarly, the ITDA school at Indireswaram was closed down. The officials went there to find out the reasons. There are only 60 tribals belonging to 30 families. In all, 18 students of the school dropped out.

Several Chenchus told the officials that the ITDA school refused admission to Chenchu children stating that they would not be able to pursue education in English medium. Chenchus also complained of ration dealer duping them by giving only 5 kg on each ration card, against 35 kg ordered by the District Collector. The officials said that they would take all these issues to the Collector’s notice.
