LHMS app gets good response
District SP S V Rajasekhar Babu developed an app called Locked House Management System (LHMS) to prevent burglaries in locked houses. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the LHMS app in Kuppam on Thursday. House owners, who want to utilise LHMS services, have to download the app from Google Play Store.
Tirupati: District SP S V Rajasekhar Babu developed an app called Locked House Management System (LHMS) to prevent burglaries in locked houses. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch the LHMS app in Kuppam on Thursday. House owners, who want to utilise LHMS services, have to download the app from Google Play Store.

They have to register their personal details, residential addresses and mobile numbers. The police will send onetime password to registered users. A house owner, who is leaving for outstation, has to send a message to police through LHMS app. Later, the police will install a CCTV camera with an alarm in the opposite house. If the burglars try to break into the house then the alarm will go off and automatically send an alert message to police and house owners as well.
However, sources say more funds are required for setting up CCTVs with an alarm in the opposite houses as 60,000 house owners have registered with the LHMS app. Another limitation about the app is that house owners have inform police after they return home so that police can stop functioning of camera and alarm.
The police are confident of keeping check to burglar gangs from Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu and Thane in Maharashtra with the LHMS app. Speaking to The Hans India, H Ramanjaneyulu of Chittoor city appreciated the app but expressed doubts as to how police will install CCTV cameras and alarms in every house.
When this correspondent tried to contact Rajasekhar Babu to know about functioning of app, the SP was not available as he was busy in making security arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit to Kuppam.
