Visakhapatnam: Investiture ceremony of Sainik School Korukonda was held at the Golden Jubilee Indoor Sports Complex on Wednesday.
On arrival, the chief guest of the ceremony Chief of Staff, Eastern Naval Command, Vice-Admiral, Atul Kumar Jain, laid a wreath at the school war memorial in the honour of the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the cause of motherland. Later, he was accorded guard of honour by 50 cadets led by the guard commander, School Cadet Captain, Vikram Kumar.
The Flag Officer presented the most coveted Principal's banner for champion house both junior and senior, prestigious NDA Trophy for sending maximum number of cadets to NDA and other trophies to the worthy winner house appointments. The ceremony culminated with the new cadet appointments being administered an oath for sincerity and dedication towards their respective responsibilities.
Complimented the cadets for their high standards of drill and turn out, the Vice-Admiral emphasised upon the rich legacy of Sainik School Korukonda, highlighting the contribution of generations of officers and staff to make this institution today. He also advised the boys to improve their communication skills and strive to participate in extra-curricular activities. Naval Command Commodore KS Noor also present.
