Rajamahendravaram: Not only human beings, the milch cattle will also get 12-digit unique identity number (Aadhaar number) across the state. The State government with the assistance of Union government has launched 'Pasu Sanjeevini' programme in the State and East Godavari was selected to the unique programme as a pilot project.

Speaking to The Hans India on Thursday, Dr CHSR Gopala Krishna said Pasu Sanjeevini programme was aimed to know the entire details of respective cattle such as its health condition, productivity capacity and its delivery time.
Under the programme, a plastic tag with 12-digit unique number pressed to the ear of respective milch cattle, where there is no blood supply.
As many as 13 lakh cattle across the state comes under this programme and in East Godavari three lakh cattle. So far in the district, the plastic number tags were fixed to 470 cattle as against 500 cattle selected in the first phase. Orders also sent for plastic tags, which is a five-year programme. A health card also be issued to the owner of cattle with details and when he goes to veterinary hospital he must produce it and as per Aadhaar number, the doctor gives necessary medical aid.
The doctors’ gives dates for some injections to prevent cattle from diseases. The doctor added, the owner of respective cattle is not eligible to get government subsidies relating to milch cattle, if they fail to get the Aadhaar to their cattle.
Moreover, at the time of natural calamities also the owners cannot get government assistance or compensation if their cattle dies.
All details of respective cattle updated on online and they can be availed by cattle owner with Aadhaar during trading time also. Steps were being taken to avoid duplication in allotting numbers to cattle. Andhra Pradesh State Livestock Development Agency Chairman YV Rammohan Rao launched Pasu Sanjeevini programme recently.
