Visakhapatnam: Turning against his own party, senior TDP leader and former chairman of District Central Library Thota Nagesh lodged a complaint against Pratyusha Associates, the company, which once owned by HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and his family members, with the Special Investigating Team probing tampering of land records and land grabbing, here on Thursday. Ganta Srinivasa Rao resigned as director of the company before the 2014 elections.

The complaint became sensational and became topic of discussion in the political circles. Roads and Buildings Minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu also made an indirect reference to Ganta Srinivasa Rao in his complaint to the SIT recently.

Thota Nagesh in his complaint asked the SIT to probe on how the company was still in possession of land that belonged to district library worth Rs 100 crore in the open market.

Talking to reporters after submitting the petition, Nagesh said Pratyusha signed an MoU with the state government to develop multi-complex on the library premises in 2009. The land was given for 33 years lease. As per the MoU, the company was to build library in an area of 30,000 square feet and remaining 1.2 lakh sft for multi-complex.

The company after taking over the possession of the land in 2009 did not start any work. The lease agreement was cancelled in 2014 after protests from Opposition parties and activists.

“Even now the company is in possession of the land and I asked SIT to launch an inquiry,’’ Nagesh told reporters. So far complaints were made against three top TDP leaders with the SIT. They include Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, MLC MVVS Murti and Anakapalle MLA Peela Govind Satyanarayana.
