Teams selected to participate in state archery championship

Krishna District Archery Association (KDAA) conducted the 38thsub-junior district championship cum selection trails to select the Krishna district sub-junior boy and girl teams at Cherukuri Volga Archery Academy at Autonagar in Vijayawada on Thursday. About 50 archers attended the district championship cum selection trails.

Andhra Pradesh Archery Association (APAA) general secretary Cherukuri Satyanarayana inaugurated the district championship. Those who registered their names at Krishna District Archery Association as archery players were permitted for the selections.

Later, Archery Academy coach L Chandra Sekhar organised the selection trials and selected the district teams to participate in Inter-District Archery Championship to be held at Srsailam in Kurnool district from July 22 to 24.

Those who performed well in the district championship were selected to the district team, said APAA secretary Cherukuri Satyanarayana. Those who exhibit talents and win medals would be sent to national the championship, he added.

He further said that the district teams would leave the city on Friday to participate in Inter-district archery championship. Archery Academy coach L Chandra Sekhar nominated as coach and B Sravan Kumar nominated as team manager, he added.
