BJP MLA seeks constitution of another SIT

Visakhapatnam: BJP floor leader and Visakhapatnam MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju sought another SIT team to deal with the land cases.Talking to reporters after submitting documents to SIT team leader Greyhounds IG Vineet Brijlal, the MLA said more than 2,000 complainants submitted their documents and it would be a burden for the present SIT team having three or four members to go through the documents within a specified time.

Extension should be given so that more people could come forward to submit their papers. He suggested the SIT to initiate action against accused officer irrespective of his rank and status. He also asked SIT not to transfer the documents to tahsildars’ offices as there were chances of manipulation.

Speaking on the documents he submitted to SIT, Raju said, “One Sanapala Sitaram claimed ownership of seven acres of land under survey No 13/3 in Madhuravada. He had tampered documents and on inquiry it was found that he had grabbed two acres of government land.

He went to court and revenue officials did not file any counter which helped Sitaram claim the land.” In Rajavaram village of Payakaraopeta mandal some people grabbed 144 acres of government land under survey nos 146 and 126-1 by tampering land records. No action was initiated so far. Similarly, 41 acres of prime land in Chittiivalasa under Bhimili mandal has been grabbed by some people by tampering records.
