Visakhapatnam: Udyogaratham, a vehicle connects the job seekers to MSME from their localities, was commissioned on Friday.

This is the second Udyogaratham in the state and the first one was plying in the state capital for the past one year. Udyogaratham will move to the colonies, public places like bus bays, railway stations and other localities and register the details of the job seekers. Two teams will work from the vehicle.

One team will contact the employers to register their HR needs, while the other team will assist the local unemployed youth by providing information that where are job opportunities are available.

The government tied up with TMI Group and it would run the activities. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited sponsored the vehicle with the state-of-the-art technology in the vehicle. Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), TMI Group and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited are coming together to provide job assistance to the job seekers in Visakhapatnam.

While commissioning the Udyogaratham services, Ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Kollu Ravindra, Pithani Satyanarana and Executive Director of HPCL-Visakh Refinery GSVSSS Prasada Sarma said that the government in order to provide jobs at local-level the services were started. For the past one year, Udyogaratham has been registering excellent results in Vijayawada and with the Chief Minister’s directive similar services were started in Visakhapatnam.

The new and improved digital employment van is equipped with computers, page screen TV, e-Kiosks and seating arrangement to enable youth to register and get the latest information on jobs available in Vishakapatnam and neighbouring districts. The youth can discuss about job information like qualification required, salary offered by interacting with job counsellors present in the van.

The job seekers can download a mobile android app called APPLI, thanks to a local Hotspot being created around the van by installation of data WiFi routers in the van. The vacancies, including small jobs, will be visible through the mobile app in their mobile. -
