Acharya Nagarjuna University Vice-Chancellor Prof A Rajendra Prasad said that the university set up anti-ragging committees in the six colleges functioning in the university jurisdiction to check ragging. He added that they have already displayed anti-ragging boards in the university to create awareness about ragging.

Guntur: Acharya Nagarjuna University Vice-Chancellor Prof A Rajendra Prasad said that the university set up anti-ragging committees in the six colleges functioning in the university jurisdiction to check ragging. He added that they have already displayed anti-ragging boards in the university to create awareness about ragging.

He addressed a meeting on the ANU premises on’ Anti-Ragging’ on Saturday. He further stated that they are creating awareness about how the accused in ragging case will suffer.

He said if ragging case is registered against the student, how his future will spoil . He urged the students to do hard work and come up in life and explained various facilities provided in the university for the convenience of students. Guntur district judge A Hariharanath Sarma emphasised on ethics in the society.

He underlined the importance of good behaviour and discipline. He felt that it is not correct to obstruct freedom of other students. He urged the students do hard work to achieve their targets. Guntur Urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao explained the steps taken by the police department to check ragging through a PowerPoint presentation.

He explained how the accused in the ragging case would be punished. He appealed to the students not to resort to ragging . He stressed on significance of discipline in the life. He explained steps taken by the police department to check ragging.
