Vijayawada: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (PR&RD) Commissioner B Ramanjaneyulu said that the state government is giving top priority to develop infrastructure in rural areas and asked the officials to complete the given targets in their respective districts.

Ramanjaneyulu suggested that laying cement roads, construction of panchayat buildings, Anganwadi buildings should be taken up in a big way. PR&RD Commissioner organised a meeting with districts PR&RD officers, ZP CEO, DWAMA project directors meeting at Commissionerate in the city on Saturday.

Ramanjaneyulu explained Dash Board which was arranged by Minister for PR&RD Nara Lokesh. Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Ramanjaneyulu said that by using information technology the officers would reach the targets. He said top priority would be given to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe areas to take up several development works, he informed.

He asked the officials to conduct a meeting every Saturday with district officers of DWMA, DPO, CEO and other departments to make plan of action to reach the targets, he added.

He further directed the officials to issue job cards as per Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) to the eligible persons. The wage payment would be followed by the Centre guidelines and officials should maintain seven registers and arrange boards at work places, he said.
