Goddess Chowdeswari jayanti celebrated with fervour

Atmakuru: To mark the Chowdeswari mata birthday celebrations, MLA Budda Rajasekhara Reddy’s wife Sailaja on Sunday offered special puja to the Goddess Chowdeswari at Thotageri.

On the occasion, a homam for world peace, Chowdeswari Yagam, Lakshmi Ganapati Homam, Ashtottara and Satanama homams were performed amidst chanting of Vedic hymns. Later the villagers took out a procession to Gangamma temple carrying bonalu on their heads.

The temple committee made elaborate arrangements to the devotees including food and drinking water. The Chowdeswari mata jayanti celebrations were held on a grand scale at five temples of the Goddess in Atmakuru Assembly constituency limits.
