Rajamahendravaram: Tension prevailed in Kirlampudi village along with other parts of the district, mainly in Konaseema area, in the wake of proposed padayatra by Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham to Amaravati on July 26th.
Highlights:
- The government has deployed thousands of police force in Kirlampudi village, Ravulapalem and many parts of Konaseema, upland areas, to avoid untoward incidents
- Police check posts have been arranged on the national highway, borders of Kirlampudi village, Gammon bridge on river Godavari and other bridges
- Along with the local police, states special police force, paramilitary forces were pressed into service
- The police department has arranged stoppers in many places and particularly in Kirlampudi village, insisting on personal identification to enter into the village
Mudragada Padmanabham gave a call to Kapu community saying that it is his last fight against the government to mount pressure on the government for according reservations to Kapus.
With this, Kapu community, mainly Kapu youth in the state, particularly in East Godavari district decided to sail with Padmanabham. Meanwhile, the government has deployed thousands of police force in Kirlampudi village, Ravulapalem and many parts of Konaseema, upland areas, to avoid untoward incidents.
Police check posts have been arranged on the national highway, borders of Kirlampudi village, both sides of road-cum-rail bridge, Gammon bridge on river Godavari and other bridges on river Godavari at Ravulapalem and Siddantham. Along with the local police, states special police force, paramilitary forces were pressed into service.
Meanwhile, the police department arranged stoppers in many places and particularly in Kirlampudi village and insisting on personal identification to enter into the village.
The police are watching the situation through drone cameras, closed circuit cameras etc and the house of Mudragada Padmanabham was barricaded by police. Some top brass of police department camped on the highway at Jaggampeta and are reviewing the situation.
In the wake of support by Congress and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) to Mudragada Padmanabham the police are planning to stop Kapu community people who come to Kirlampudi to participate in padayatra along with Padmanabham. At the same time, Kapu leaders of ruling party are in doldrums on whom to support.
As the government is very particular to stop the padayatra, whether the police keep Padmanabham and other leaders under house arrest or file charge sheet in CID court and send them to remand is a million- dollar question.
Meanwhile, Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham is saying that he would start his padayatra, when the government would withdraw forces. Some Kapu leaders expressed their unhappiness over the government's overaction and questioned that they are in doubt whether they were living in Pakistan.
Kapus will teach a fitting lesson to TDP in the ensuing assembly elections, mainly to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who is trying to suppress Kapus who are demanding fulfilling of the assurances given relating to reservations for Kapus.
