Visakhapatnam: The PM Palem police issued notice to three TDP leaders and summoned them to the station into inquire into the alleged land grabbing. The residents of Madhuravada alleged that TDP leader of fourth ward in Madhuravada Golagani Sanyasi Rao allegedly grabbed 2.79 acres of government land under survey no 159/3 and tried to build a house in the land.

Similarly, notices were also issued to lower rung leaders, G Narasimha Murthy and K Appalaswamy, who were also allegedly involved in land grabbing.

“We did not make any arrests so far. We are verifying the land records and matching with the records available in the revenue office. If it proved that they had grabbed the land, we will not hesitate to arrest anyone irrespective of his or her status,” said circle inspector of PM Palem police K Lakhsmana Murthy. It may be recalled that a case was also filed against Anakapalle MLA Peela Govind Satyanarayana in Anandapuram police station.

Party sources said the top leaders including MLAs have decided to take the land case issue and probe by Special Investigation Team to the notice of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who will be here on July 26 to address a public meeting and distribute pattas.

The leaders were citing the case of Anakapalle MLA whose version was not heard by the SIT before a case was filed. Some leaders have already left for Amaravati to meet the chief minister in this regard.

The MLA also met the commissioner of police T Yoganand and told him that SIT members did not give him a chance to produce documents supporting his claim over the land. Even Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao also expressed his unhappiness over the functioning of the SIT.
