Drusya Vedika, a cultural organisation, had arranged a violin and sitar concert titled ‘Raga Bhava Tarangini,’ which illustrated the moods like Karuna, Srungaram, Roudram, Santa, Bhaya and Adbhuta on Sunday evening at Veledandla Hanumantharaya Grandhalayam hall.

The programme started with the felicitations to Promising stage director and actor R Jayasri. She was honored by the Telugu Artistes Federation, Vijayawada. BV Syam Prasad, Nandagiri Narasimha Rao, Padmasri and ESN Murthy were present as well. Jayasri said that she had been nominated to participate in the director’s workshop for women in Jaipur organised by National school of Drama.

She said that many things were learned during that period. She advised the artistes to learn new things and try to implement them on the stage. She expressed her gratitude for all the persons who helped for her growth.

The main stream of the programme commenced with traditional keerthan ‘Vatapi Ganapatim Bhajeham’ in Hamsadwani ragam. The programme followed by the conceptual based concert designed to explore six feelings namely Karuna, Srungaram, Roudram, Santa, Bhaya and Adbhuta on Violin and sitar. The main concept was led by Kalyani ragam and the respective bhavas were designed in ‘Subhapantuvarali’, ‘Kapi’, ‘Pantuvarali’, ‘Desh’, ‘Revathi’ and ‘Mohana’ ragas.

The audience drenched in the fine combination of violin and Sitar performances. Hemadri Chandrakanth on violin and Irfan Ahammad Khan on sitar supported by B Suresh kumar on mridangam and MS Pavan Kumar on Tabla mesmerised the spectators with their excellent show. Hemadri Prasad, the founder of the organisation said that the youth will design the innovative programmes and present them in coming days.
