Students from a government school helped stop their classmate\'s marriage in Komarolu of Prakasam district on Wednesday.
Students from a government school helped stop their classmate's marriage in Komarolu of Prakasam district on Wednesday.
The students of Class IX alerted the police and stopped the marriage which was taking place against the wish of the girl who is also a minor.
The 15-year-old girl had informed her classmates about getting married in Ongole. All the students went to the local police station and lodged a complaint against the girl's father.
After catching hold of his father, the police questioned him but he stated that his daughter had gotten admission in Ongole. However, the girl made it clear that she was not interested to go to Ongole.
The girl's father was warned of serious action if she got married since she is a minor and also asked him to let her continue studies in Komarolu.
