here on Wednesday, Naidu said some people have been raking up caste issues to get political mileage and disturb the peace.“I belong to the poor man caste. Events like Tuni and Jellikattu cannot deter me from serving my people,” he said.

For the first time state government created a fund of Rs 1,000 crore for Kapu Corporation and formed Manjunath commission to study problems of the Kapus before according BC status to the community.Congress mooted BC status for Kapus in 2004 and did not move an inch for over 10 years.

“The leaders who are shouting from their roof tops were silent then. They have vested interest in launching the agitation,” Naidu said.

Public positive to SIT

Regarding ongoing probe into land documents tampering and land grabbing, the Chief Minister said the response from the public has been positive. A large number of people suggested action, correction of the documents and a mechanism to prevent tampering of the documents.

People want online records, new system of registration with positive changes and permanent eradication of land mafia.
On sale of liquor through illegal outlets mushroomed all over the state, the Chief Minister said he had warned anti-social elements to stop but they continued.“Finally I took out my belt to close these so called belt shops,” Naidu said drawing good response from the women.
